Psychotherapy
Therapy with Children and Teens
I provide psychotherapy to youth of all ages. I have experience working with children and teens who have experienced traumatic events, and I am trained and experienced in providing Child-Parent Psychotherapy.
I have experience supporting children and teens in therapy for a variety of presenting issues, including:
Stress and anxiety
Grief and loss
Bullying
Parent separation, divorce, or family changes
Traumatic experiences
Social stress
Life transitions
Experience in the foster care system
Depending on the person’s age and the presenting problem, I either provide individual sessions and separate parent sessions to support the treatment, or family sessions.
Perinatal Psychotherapy
Becoming a parent is viewed in our society as a time of bliss and fulfillment, but for many, this transition can also be a time of fear and isolation. My approach to working with perinatal patients draws on my extensive training in perinatal and infant-parent mental health and my lived experience as a parent. I am here to support you on your journey with warmth, compassion, a space free from judgment, and one that honors the complexity of the perinatal time period.
I help perinatal clients with the following:
Infertility
Postpartum depression
Postpartum anxiety, OCD and intrusive thoughts
Traumatic birth experiences
Difficulties connecting with your baby
Challenges with family members
Identity shifts
Miscarriage and loss
Family planning
I am able to offer in-home sessions to meet the unique needs of the postpartum period.
Consultation
Parent Consultation
Parent consultation offers a space to think about your child’s behaviors that you may find challenging, peculiar, or straight up mysterious. I incorporate my expertise in early child development and attachment and deep work with children and families to help you understand the meaning behind your child’s behavior and how to support them and you in your evolving relationship. I believe challenging moments can become opportunities for tremendous healing, transformation, and growth when given space for thought and reflection.
Some challenges that could be supported by parent consultation include:
Transitions during childhood development
Feeling reactive during your child’s challenging behavior
Issues around co-parenting
Setting boundaries and limits
Having difficult experiences resurface from your own childhood
Program Consultation
I work with organizations that serve children and families by helping them think about how to best support families and meet the needs of staff members on the front lines of working with others. I have extensive experience working with different types of organizations, from early head start programs to professionals in child welfare. If you or your team are interested in individual or group consultation, please reach out.
I have experience providing program consultation around the following topics:
